Remove an obstacle125. Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said , “Belief has over sixty branches. The best of them is the words, ‘There is no god but Allah’ and the least of them is to remove an obstacle from the road.” [Agreed upon] Riyad as-Salihin119. Abu Dharr also reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace said: “The actions of my community, both good and bad, were displayed before me and I found among their good actions removing obstacles from the road and I found among their bad actions spittle in the mosque which is not buried.” [Muslim] Riyad as-Salihin122. Abu Hurayra said, “The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, ‘Sadaqa is owed by every limb people have. Every day on which the sun rises in which someone establishes justice between two people is sadaqa. To help a man with his animal and help him onto it is sadaqa. Or to lift his goods onto it is sadaqa. A good word is sadaqa. Every step you take to the prayer is sadaqa. Removing an obstacle from the road is sadaqa.” [Agreed upon] Riyad as-SalihinAction PlanHow to remove an obstacle? 1. Identify obstacle to be removed. The ability to identify obstacles and understand why they are causing problems is only the first step in removing obstacles. 2. DIY (Do it yourself) -- Deal with the obstacle directly without involving other people. This can be as simple as getting up and moving an the obstacle from the road. e.g •picking up a brick or stone from the road, •picking up litter as you walking pass, •Cleaning up the masjid •picking up a small branch that is obstructing traffic. (Be careful and assess if it is safe to do it yourself)3. Delegate -- Identify the obstacle and give precise instructions for its removal to a person who will directly perform the removal. This can sometimes work if removing an obstacle takes a great deal of time, effort or specialized skills that you yourself do not possess. E.g. •Calling the water company when there is a burst pipe, •Call the fire station if there is a huge tree in the middle of the road. •Call the traffic department if there is something on the highway/freeway.source: Art of obstacle removal

Greet one another
Narrated Abu Umamah The Prophet(SAW) said : ” Those who are nearest to Allah are they who are first to give a salutation/greeting” Abu Dawood 5178 008.074.270 Narrated ‘Aisha: that the Prophet said to her, “Gabriel sends Salam (greetings) to you.” She replied , “Wa ‘alaihi-s-Salam Wa Rahmatu-l-lah.” (Peace and Allah’s Mercy be on him). Bukhari Action planIslam has professed the use of the Islamic greeting when encountering another Muslim or leaving the company of another Muslim because it unifies the hearts and strengthens bonds between Muslims. How to greet the islamic way?The complete form for the Islamic greeting is Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh meaning peace, mercy, and blessings be upon from Allah (S.W.T.).This is because Imams Abu-Dawood and At-Tirmithi reported in a good hadith that a man came to the prophet (S.A.W.) and said, “Assalamu alaikum “ The prophet responded and the man sat down. The prophet said, “Ten rewards.”Another man came and said, “ Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah.” The prophet responded and the man sat down. The prophet said, “twenty rewards.” Then another man came and said : Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh The prophet responded and the man sat down. The prophet said, “thirty rewards. From the Etiquette of Salam:
1. The one who comes greets the Muslims that are present. 2. The one who is riding greets the one who is walking. 3. The one who is walking greets the one who is sitting. 4. The smaller group greets the bigger group. 5. The young greet the elder. Source: Islamic greeting and it’s etiquette

PLANT A TREE: Or, Who has created the heavens and the earth, and Who sends you down rain from the sky? Yea, with it We cause to grow well-planted orchards full of beauty of delight: it is not in your power to cause the growth of the trees in them. (Can there be another) god besides Allah. Nay, they are a people who swerve from justice. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said, “Whenever Muslims plant a tree, they will earn the reward of charity because of the food that comes from it; and likewise what is stolen from it, what the wild beasts eat out of it, what the birds eat out of it, and what people take from it is charity for them” (Muslim:2904). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is also reported to have said , “Muslims will always earn the reward of charity for planting a tree, sowing a crop and then birds, humans, and animals eat from it” Action Plan

Feed a fasting personThe Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said, “Whoever feeds a fasting person will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without any reduction in his reward.” (Ahmad and Al-Nasai. Also verified by Al-Albani as sahih) Salmaan Al-Faarisi, may Allaah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam gave a speech on the last day of Sha’baan, and said, “O people! You are being approached by a great and blessed month. A month which contains a night that is better than one thousand months. Allaah made fasting within it an obligation and made praying in that night an optional act of worship. He who performs any righteous voluntary act within it, will be rewarded like one who does an obligatory act at any time other than during Ramadhaan. “He who performs an obligatory act of worship within it will be rewarded like he who performs seventy acts of worship at any time outside this month. It is the month of perseverance -- and perseverance is rewarded with Jannah (Paradise). It is the month of compassion, in which the sustenance of a believer increases. He who feeds a fasting person within this month has his sins forgiven and he will be protected and released from the hellfire. He also gets the reward of that person’s fasting without decreasing the reward of the fasting person.”
Then the companions, may Allaah be pleased with them, said, ‘O messenger of Allaah! Not all of us can find the extra food needed to feed another fasting person’.So the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam responded, “Allaah will give you the reward of feeding a fasting person even if you were to give him just a sip of milk, a date, or a sip of water. He who feeds a fasting person until he is full, Allaah will make him drink out of my river, a sip of which will never allow him to be thirsty until he enters Jannah.”Then he continued, “… This is the month the beginning of which is mercy, the middle part is forgiveness and the last part of it is release from hellfire.” (Al-Bayhaqi). Action plan1. Take extra dates, water and food along with you to the masjid and share with the other brothers and sisters in the masjid. 2. Find an impoverished muslim family in your community and sponsor their iftaars and suhoors. 3. Find an organisation in your area that has an iftaar feeding scheme and volunteer your time or donate money to assist them with their cause. If there isn’t one in your town start one. 4. Give out date gift parcels to your friends, family and community. 5. Invite people to join your for iftar especially muslims that have just entered the fold of Islam.
