AoA!
This post will give you an idea about a question that might have sprouted in your mind many times; but you just brushed it aside as there was no satisfactory answer available.
During my entire academic life so far; I have always remained a student who comes up with questions that gives jitters to all
I can clearly reminisce the day when i stunned my Islamiyat teacher that she couldn't stop grinning ;D
It goes like this:
While memorizing Surah Rehamn my hafiz saab told me about the hoors a man will get in Jannah . I didn't got the point as i thought of my mother; that what will happen to her?? if my father will go away with all those hoors
Being 7 years old then; i didn't had guts; either to question or to argue with him but the question kept tingling my mind until that very fortunate day
Fast forward 10 years....
Our Islamiyat teacher was teaching about the Jannah when boys went gaga over the hoors n all. Taking the advantage of situation I finally cracked it!
"That if men will get hoors in Jannah what women will get as their companions? And what will happen to our wives? What if they only wants to live with their husbands in the life hereafter and want no hoors with him? Like typical Pakistani women "
Her jaw dropped n she was like dumbfounded ; stoned and grinning ;D, then after a moment she sighed n said women will get pious man called kirmans. There was a loud uproar of laughs n witty comments the question got lost somewhere in that entire hullabaloo.
It confused me even more. I looked for Kirmans but didn’t found any clue. All I managed to find was the meaning of the word. It means a particular kind of Persian carpet. umm..all women will get in Jannah as companion is a carpet A BIG NO!!
All the frantic efforts proved to be futile in the end. I thought of kirmans; that how they would look like?? …Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Josh Duhamel, Daniel Radcliffe or Gerard Butler cos these were the personalities; girls usually go crazy about. Duh..!!..Nah pious men are not clean shave they wear long beards..lol =). And how come they ever commit garish and blatant sinful acts like all these people do?? All this really puzzled me until I came up with my conclusion.
Being a man myself I know how a man with good nature feels. He loves his wife to core. He wants her to be pious and devoted to him only. A true man protects his wife like a canopy and saves her from all odds of the world. In a nutshell he wants a hoor on earth. The Holy Quran confirms this trait of males.
Whom neither man nor Jinn has ever touched before.[55:56]
Similarly a man wants his wife to be pure, unseen and untouched.
I don’t know how we would feel in heaven; as upon asking from grandpa that “what if we get bored in Jannah?” he said “God will take boredom out of your system”. But right now I believe a man with true heart would want to stay with his better half forever. No doubt a man is lured by hoors to do good by divine authority; but would everyone be okay with polygamy??? And above all would you be able to connect emotionally with a strange hoor? Umm….Allah knows better
This is a mystery know best to Allah. But I firmly believe He is all just, kind and merciful. As a man in paradise will get whatever he wants; if I get there (Allah willing) I will ask God to give my only wife as my sole companion; with all her bad traits fixed up. I want her to be my hoor forever =).
Well; this was my ideology that I made up after thinking a lot. But I found the following article by a Muslima sis (May Allah be pleased with her) which proved to be very helpful in making up my mind. It has answered so many queries so beautifully and felicitously.
Hope all of you will enjoy reading =).
