“No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that.”

SOMETIMES... We must be hurt in order to grow, We must fail in order to know, We must lose in order to gain. Some Lessons are best learned only through pain.
SOMETIMES... Our vision clears only after our eyes are washed with tears. We have to be broken, so we can be tender, We are sick so we can rest and think better on things more important than work or fun, We are taken for trip near death, so we can assess how we've run.
SOMETIMES... We have to suffer lack, so we can know God's provision, We have to feel another's pain, so we can have a sense of mission. So don't take to heart, if you don't understand today. Instead of grumbling, ask God what He means to say In order to learn you must endure, and learn to see the bigger picture. In order to grow, you must stand and look beyond the hurt, Trust in God's loving hand that takes what is Good, and gives what is Best, , God's hand only gives what His loving heart dictates,
SOMETIMES... The Lord calms the storm.
SOMETIMES... He lets the storm rage... and calms His people... Better go through the storm with Him, than smooth waters without Him...

Repel boredom with work
Those who have nothing to do with their lives are the same people who spend most of their time spreading rumors and falsehood, mainly because their minds are devoid of beneficial thoughts:
They are content to be with those [the women] who sit behind [at home]. Their hearts are sealed up [from right guidance] so they understand not.} (Qur'an 9: 87)
When you find yourself to be idle, prepare for depression and despair, because idleness allows your mind to wander in the past, the present, and the future, with all of their difficulties. Therefore, my sincere advice to you is to perform fruitful acts instead of being idle, for idleness is a slow and veiled form of suicide.
Idleness is like the slow torture that is inflicted upon prisoners in China: they are placed under a tap, from which a drop of water falls only after every hour. During the period of waiting between drops, many of them lose their minds and are driven to insanity.
Being inactive means being negligent of one's duties. Idleness is an expert thief and your mind is its victim.
Therefore get up now and say a prayer or read a book; praise your Lord, study, write, organize your library, fix something in your house, or benefit others so that you can put an end to your inactivity. I say this only because I sincerely wish for your betterment.
Destroy boredom by working. When you apply this simple precept alone, you will have traveled at least fifty percent of the way towards happiness. Look at farmers, carpenters, and the bread-maker, and observe how, when they are working, they recite words as melodious as the singing of birds, because they are content.

Do not be sad - Always remember Allah
Concerning His remembrance, Allah, the All-Glorious, says:
Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. (Qur'an 13: 28)
Therefore remember me [by praying, glorifying etc.] and I will remember you… (Qur'an 2: 152)
And the men and the women who remember Allah much with their hearts and tongues, Allah has prepared for them. Forgiveness and a Great reward [i.e. Paradise]. (Qur'an 33: 35)
You who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance. And glorify His Praises morning and afternoon [the early morning (fajr) and ASR prayers. (Qur 'an 33: 41-42)
You who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah. (Qur 'an 63: 9)
And remember your Lord when you forget... (Qur'an 18: 24)
And glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. And in the night-time also, glorify His Praises, -and at the setting of the stars. (Qur 'an 52: 48-49)
You who believe! When you meet [an enemy] force, take a firm stand against them and remember the Name of Allah much [both with tongue and mind], so that you may be successful. (Qur'an 8: 45)
In an authentic hadith, the Prophet (bpuh) said:
"The example of one who remembers his Lord in relation to one who does not remember his Lord is that of the living and the dead."
The Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) also said:
"The mufarridoon outstrip others." His Companions asked. "Who are the mufarridoon, O' Messenger of Allah." He said, "The men who remember Allah often and the women who remember Allah often."
And in another authentic hadith, the Prophet (bpuh) said:
"Shall I not inform you of the best of deeds, and the purest of them with your Lord? The deed which is better for you than spending gold and silver (for a good cause). And which is better for you than to meet your enemy. And you cut their throats and they cut yours?" They said, "Yes_ O' Messenger of Allah." He said, "The remembrance of Allah."
The following is an authentic hadith:
"A man came to the Prophet and said, Messenger of Allah, the commandments of Islam have become too much for me, and I am old in age; so inform of something that I can adhere to.' He said, `That your tongue (continually) remains moist with the remembrance of Allah."'

Life can be tough these days. It genuinely seems like we are stuck in a rat race – work is boring, family is difficult, you just can’t find the social network and warm feeling of brother/sisterhood, and of course, you’re still single. And then on top of all this, mum is not well and dad has passed away. This may resonate with a lot of you or parts of this may, and the consequences of all this are that many of us circumnavigate life through bouts of depression. We feel a sadness that sometimes we do not know quite how to overcome. We feel an anxiety that we have no idea what it stems from. Ultimately what we find is that despite all the pleasures of the world, we are still fighting a sadness, anxiety and a feeling of sorrow, which manifest in different ways. So why is this?Unquestionably the reality of this situation is the gulf between our lifestyle and the prophetic example. When we find ourselves facing any problems, we see those to be the biggest issues in the world. Our whole outlook can change, our whole commitment levels can change and fundamentally we find our faith can shake. And here is the proof that we are so devoid of prophetic guidance that the affairs of our own life become the center of the universe. He (sal Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said what means, “O people! If any believer is afflicted by a disaster, let him remember the disaster of my death, so that this may give him ease, as nobody will be afflicted with a disaster which is greater than that of my death.” (Ibn Maajah). The most amazing thing about this also is, that when you just take a moment to consider his death (Peace and blessings be upon him), the most bizarre sadness will overcome you. Your heart will sink, your soul will quiver and you will be able to see the reality of whatever you are dealing with at the time. Lets take that journey now, and prepare to truly comprehend the words of our Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). ‘Aa’ishah, may Allaah be pleased with her, said: “When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) died, Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) was not around. ‘Umar, (may Allaah be pleased with him) stood up and addressed the people saying: ‘I swear by Allaah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has not died and that Allaah will send him back to cut off the hands and legs of those who claim that he has died.’ Then, Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) arrived to where the Prophet was lying, uncovered his face, kissed him and said: ‘I would sacrifice my father and mother for your sake. You are just as fragrant after your death as you were during your life. I swear by the one in whose hand my soul is, Allaah will never let you die twice.’
Then he went out face the people and said ‘O you who is swearing (by Allaah) (meaning ‘Umar) calm down!’ When ‘Umar, (may Allaah be pleased with him) heard Abu Bakr, may Allaah be pleased with him, talking, he kept silent and sat down, so Abu Bakr, praised and thanked Allaah and then said: ‘Whoever was worshipping Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), then Muhammad (peace be upon him) is dead, but whoever was worshipping Allaah, then Allaah is alive and will never die.’ Then he recited (that which translates as): ”Indeed, you [i.e, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) are to die, and indeed, they are to die].” (Az-Zumar: 30) And that “Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allaah at all; but Allaah will reward the grateful.” (3: 144) (Related by Bukhari)
Allah Al Musta’an, how sad is this scene. How does it make you feel? How does it feel when you visualize that scene? Does it not just leave you speechless? Ibn Rajab, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: “When the Prophet (sal Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) died, the Muslims were in a state of shock and confusion; some of them were bewildered, others were shocked and started to get things mixed up, others dropped to their knees and were unable to stand, others could not talk and others still refused completely to believe the news of his death.”
Brothers and sisters, the purpose of mentioning this advice of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is so we can contextualize the sadness we may feel we have in our lives. Without question, as human beings we are moved by our personal circumstances, which may cause us pain and distress, however the key is how we deal with these challenges. If we ponder on them with the context of the advice of the Messenger (peace be upon him)and his departure from this world, it makes every pain easier to bear. Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) said what means: ”Allah does not burden a soul more than it can bear]…” (7:42)Let us not be held back by sad thoughts but rather move forward and become more Productive Muslims inshaAllah.

“Truely in the heart there is a VOID that cannot be removed except with the company of ALLAH … And in it there is a SADNESS that cannot be removed except with the happiness of knowing ALLAH & being true to him … And in it there is an EMPTINESS that cannot be filled except with love for ALLAH & by turning to him & always remembering him … And if a person were given all of the world & everything within it, it would not fill this emptiness …”

When things are down And you are out of your mind Remember just remember Allah is The Kind.
When your life is in darkness And nothing is right Remember just remember Through the darkness, Allah is The Light.
When nothing makes sense And your heading for demise Remember just remember It doesn't make sense, but Allah is The Wise.
When times are troubled And no one seems to care Remember just remember Allah won't hurt you, He is The Fair.
When your heart is breaking And your pain makes you fall Remember just remember Allah Sees it all.
When you are weak And the road seems long Remember just remember Seek strength from The Strong.
When life is a burden And everything is unstable Remember just remember Allah is The Able.
When the way is cloudy And there is no one by your side Remember just remember Allah is The Only Guide.
When no one wants to listen Or is willing to lend an ear Remember just remember Allah is always ready to hear.
When you are poor and penniless And you are stuck in a niche Remember just remember Allah is The Rich.
When you are down in your misery And there is nowhere to run Remember just remember You can always run to The One.
And when your scars are hurting And your heart is in fear Remember just remember Allah is really here.
